It’s been a while since I’ve been traveling, so this time I took my sweet time from my daily office job, and boarded a plane to the east… towards the region known as Central Visayas in the Philippines. This area in the middle of the archipelago, consists out of several provinces.
In the corner between Italy and Austria, there is a small country hiding some truly beautiful sceneries, food and people. I am of course talking about Slovenia. I’ve been visiting the northern part, where also the talles mountain of Slovenia is: the Triglav, 2863m tall. This is the highest peak of Slovenia, and if you take a good look at the national flag, you will see this mountain on the flag.
The Dolomites are one of the most beautiful areas of the Alps in Europe. They are located (mostly) in North-East Italy, in the provinces of South-Tirol, Trentino and Veneto and are nowadays part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Dolomites have many rugged peaks, up to a height of 3343 meters and are known for their breathtaking vistas from the tops and beautiful valleys. What better then end a day of skiing in December on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful Fassa Valley, together with a beautiful sunshine and music in the background!
During covid, when traveling was something that needed quite a bit of extra planning, I managed to book myself on a trip to the tropical Carribean island of Bonaire. Located about 40km north of Venazuela, Bonaire is part of the ABC islands (Aruba (most westwards), Bonaire (most eastwards) and Curacao (the middle island).
